FINALS (Best of 7)

Dorkus Malorkus vs. Slackers
|

The regular season consisted of every team playing one game to 21 against all the other teams. The top 8 teams qualified for the playoffs. Team Rebels (Brian Licht of Depew, NY and Dan Klavoon of Lockport, NY) placed the number one seed at 14-1, with only one regular season loss to Slackers. In a close finish for the number two seed, three teams tied at 12-3, and Second Choice Partners came out on top of that group with the better record against the other two.
In the first round of the playoffs, the last seed Slackers (Jim & Kim Daugherty of North Tonawanda, NY) came from behind in the series to defeat the number one seed, Team Rebels, 4 games to 2. Second Choice Partners defeated Action (Scott Silverman & Steve Odzrywolski) 4 games to none, Klavoon Kavemen defeated Underpaid & Overworked (Paul Swisher & Chris Hiestand) 4 games to 1, and Dorkus Malorkus swept Fighting Cocks (Todd Lindbloom & Jeff Jachlewski) 4 games to none.
In the final four, Dorkus Malorkus defeated another father-son team, Klavoon Kavemen (Tim & Eric Klavoon of Lockport, NY) 4 games to one. Slackers went onto upset the new number one seed, Second Choice Partners, the first all-female team to ever make it to the final four (Laurie & LeeAnn Greenauer), 4 games to 2. In doing so, Slackers are not only the first father-daughter team to make it to the playoffs, but Kim Daugherty becomes the first female in Kan Jam to make it to the finals.
In the finals, Josh Greenauer hit three deuces in back-to-back games to lead Dorkus past Slackers 4 games to none, becoming the second team to win the Winter Klassic twice (Sole Survivors won in 2004 and 2006). Other tournament highlights included a first shot instant win by Brian Licht of Team Rebels against Dorkus Malorkus in the regular season.
Over 500 dollars was raised this February for Carly's Club at Roswell Park Cancer Institute between the Hallway Jam and Winter Klassic. Thanks again to all the participating teams and the Kenan Center for providing the facility to hold this annual event.
