FIRST WINTER KLASSIC A SUCCESS
Sole Survivors capture win

Eric Klavoon and Steve Wojcik, otherwise known as Sole Survivors, captured the first annual Kan Jam Winter Klassic by defeating Gregg and John Maxwell of Tang in the finals of the first ever double elimination tournament. Sole Survivors appear to be establishing itself as an elite team on the Kan Jam circuit. They were runners-up to three-time defending champs Dorkus Malorkus in last summer's World Championship.

Sixteen teams competed on the indoor soccer fields at Sportsplex in North Tonawanda before Sole Survivors prevailed. Eric and Steve breezed through the tournament, suffering only one regular season loss at the hands of Tang. Elliot Golach of 3 Hot Hunks had two instant wins during the tournament.

The Winter Klassic was a fund raiser for the children of Roswell Park Cancer Institute. More than one thousand dollars was generated by the tournament on January 11th thanks to the generosity of the participating teams and the management of Sportsplex.
